1937

Peel Commission Partition Plan

First proposal to partition Palestine, giving Jews 33% of land despite being only 30% of population.

1947

UN Partition Plan (Resolution 181)

UN gave 55% of Palestine to Jewish state despite Jews owning only 7% of land and being 33% of population.

1948

The Nakba ("Catastrophe")

750,000+ Palestinians forcibly expelled from their homes. Over 500 villages destroyed. Israel established on 78% of historic Palestine.

1967

Naksa (Six-Day War)

Israel occupies remaining 22% of Palestine (West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem) and Syrian Golan Heights. 300,000 more Palestinians displaced.

1982

Sabra and Shatila Massacre

Israeli-backed Phalange militia kills 3,500 Palestinian refugees in Lebanon under Israeli military supervision.

1987

First Intifada

Mass popular uprising against occupation. Over 1,200 Palestinians killed, mostly unarmed protesters.

2000

Second Intifada

Uprising after Ariel Sharon's provocative visit to Al-Aqsa. 3,000+ Palestinians killed, extensive destruction.

2005

Gaza Blockade Begins

Israel imposes land, sea and air siege after Hamas election victory, creating world's largest open-air prison for 2.3 million Gazans.

2008

Cast Lead Operation

22-day Israeli assault kills 1,400+ Gazans, including 300+ children. White phosphorus used on civilians.

2014

Protective Edge Operation

51-day attack kills 2,200+ Gazans (70% civilians), destroys 18,000 homes. UN schools bombed.

2018

Great March of Return

Peaceful protests at Gaza fence. 223 protesters killed by snipers, including medics and journalists.

2021

Unity Intifada & Sheikh Jarrah

Nationwide uprising against ethnic cleansing in Jerusalem. 256 Palestinians killed in Gaza bombing.

2023

Al-Aqsa Flood & Gaza Genocide

After Hamas operation, Israel kills 35,000+ Gazans (70% women/children), destroys all universities and hospitals.

2024

ICJ Genocide Case

Palestinian History
