1967
The year 1967 marked the beginning of Israel's ongoing military occupation of the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Sinai Peninsula, and Golan Heights. Known as the Naksa (setback) to Palestinians, this war enabled Israel to conquer the remainder of historic Palestine and implement systematic colonization policies. The conflict was preceded by years of Israeli provocations and diplomatic sabotage, contradicting Israel's claims of defensive warfare.
